PUTTING OUR COMMUNITY FIRST
"I know when we look at the most pressing issues facing our city – homelessness, housing insecurity, lack of opportunity – it all comes down to quality jobs that allow stability and capacity to support a family. I am running for re-election to continue building back our middle-class through investing in opportunities to grow regardless of what stage of life you are in."
ISSUES THAT MATTER
Better Jobs & Higher Wages
During my time on the the Phoenix City Council, I have fought to increase wages, strengthen protections, and ensure quality benefits for our working class.
Most recently, I championed the passage of a Prevailing Wage Ordinance for the City of Phoenix. This will help set the standard for wages in the construction industry on city funded projects - while also putting systems in place to prevent wage theft and occupational misclassification.
I have also worked collectively with all our labor organizations to prioritize class & compensation studies. Our employee wages have been stagnant since the recession and with inflation & lack of affordability rising we need to ensure we remain competitive in the workforce.

Public Safety & Public Health
Since taking office I have tried to focus on a holistic approach to how we address safe communities. I have worked to bridge the gap between city services and residents to deliver real results.
I am proud of the work we have done together to bring investments back to the district. Working with neighborhood leaders along 27th Avenue we secured $6 million for a regional public safety plan that centers on prevention, intervention, engagement, and enforcement.
Additionally we have fought for higher wages for public safety and updating both our Maryvale and Cactus Park Precinct's through the voter approved bond program.
I know it doesn't stop there though. The societal problems we face today require new approaches and alternative responses to 911 calls. I supported over $15 million to creating new civilian and behavioral health units.
I also worked with my colleagues to create an office of public health - with a goal of finding new solutions on everything from addressing homelessness to tackling the fentanyl crisis.
